Along the road

The accident…

The accident…This trip has been one of a kind and certainly in different ways beyond expectation, in some way as I was finding my way to the Ayurvedic kitchen my spiritual journey had some sort of an Ashram accident, I simply didn’t see the ashram coming my way…

Unfortunately, OM died on the spot, Yoga survived with an injury, my ears developed selective hearing syndrome towards Mantras, “my god” was apparently wearing a seat belt and survived with no injury, and -thank god-the Ayurvedic food was not spoiled.

On the same journey, I lost the labelling machine: who is an outsider and who has faith, I also gave up the reasoning why one is right and own is wrong…  simply because no one is wrong …

Wherever we are we end up asking the same things from our different gods, we seek to grow their qualities inside us, we strive for higher spirituality and aim for the victory of the heavenly higher self over the earthly instinctual self, we call that many different names starting from morals, good conduct, live a less stressful life, Mindfulness, having peace of mind, worry less…etc.

Many times we do that unconsciously, in some we realise that we are searching, in most, we don’t, in other times we don’t even know what we are searching for…

We all perform rituals, we all sing or chant, we all say aloud all the names of our god(s) in celebration or in grief or when in need, we all make food and eat it or offer it to the hungry, we all bless things in such ceremonies: water, wine, books, praying beads, food…and the list goes on.

We all aim for light and lightness.

We all seek the god residing inside us…

Morals of the Story:

  • Just because you practice yoga, it does not mean you are yogic.
  • After god and security intelligence agencies, it’s uncle Google who knows everything, make sure you ask him about life in an ashram, Yoga vacation, daily Ashram routines…etc.
  • If you are a first-timer, hook up with first-timers too.
  • Oh, and bring a kettle with you.
