The art of Saying goodbye

Our lives keep changing day in and day out, we mostly don’t give a big deal to the little triggers and small changes when they occur, but we give our full attention and energy to the big changes missing the fact that they mostly didn’t just happen then but started a while ago, or a long time ago with a small change.

“Why me?”, “I can’t cope with this” or “Can’t take it anymore, it’s too much” we react, some of us thinks “let’s make the best out of it” and “times of change are times of growth”.

The day you feel things are getting tighter on you, circumstances are not to your advantage, life is treating you bad, nothing is working well … it’s the same moment you need to realise a big change is on its way, an opportunity is hidden somewhere within these “bad days” and it’s the moment you need to stop, take a step back and look where are you heading and what is your purpose

That moment when you say goodbye to a wonderful colleague who was made redundant knowing that you are probably standing next to in line, are you ready to say goodbye to that chapter of your life?

That moment when you realise how far has your life changed since you made that decision… did you even know where were you heading?

That moment when you realise the dear city that inhabits you is no longer, the streets lost its peacefulness and the people lost their faces… did you collect your parts from the streets?

And how many beloved ones you said goodbye to not knowing it was the last time to say anything… did you say “I love you”?

“In an age of acceleration nothing can be more exhilarating than going slow, and in an age of distraction nothing can be so luxurious as pay attention, and in an age of constant movement nothing is as urgent as sitting still” – Pico Iyer.
